Year in Pictures 2017:  Weddings

I have always heard a tighter edit…less pictures…is a stronger edit. Well guys, my edit of wedding pictures is not so tight…25 pictures to be exact. I hope you take time to scroll…and scroll…and scroll some more…through all of them.

I helped photograph 11 weddings this year, serving as the primary photographer in one wedding. That is a record for me! Usually I stick to five to seven weddings since I have a full-time job and family. I know a couple of the weddings were pretty rough for Kevin…taking care of our two kids while suffering from the stomach flu.

It was not easy to narrow thousands of pictures down to 25, but these are my favorites. These are the pictures that make me laugh or make me feel something…and maybe they’ll make you feel something too.

I’m so thankful for Jessica Weisman, Sean and Natasha Brescher and Kelly Buechlein for hiring me in 2017. And for all of the couples and families that let me into their lives for this one very special day. Ok, enough cheese, here are the pics……

This is the sweetest daddy/daughter moment. This is a groomsmen but taking care of his daughter during the ceremony is the most important thing. (Wedding with Kelly Buechlein.)

First dance. (Wedding with Kelly Buechlein.)

This picture just makes me laugh. We were taking a posed picture, then this happened. (Wedding with Studio Expressions by Jessica.)

I LOVE weddings with kids…especially during the ceremony. They are hilarious. (Wedding with Studio Expressions by Jessica.)

This is what I imagine it will be like when I dance with my sons on their wedding days. (Wedding with Studio Expressions by Jessica.)

Just a sweet little detail. Giving up my last name…Schinagl…was a big deal to me when I got married. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Fr. Christian Raab, OSB, (a monk of Saint Meinrad!!!!) prepping for the Montee wedding. I was so excited when I found out I was photographing this wedding. I met Maddie and her brother Luke through Saint Meinrad’s “One Bread, One Cup” Youth program and I photographed her sister and dad back when I worked for The Herald. It was nice to be photographing people I knew. Most of the time I meet the bride and groom for the first time on the wedding day. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Montee Wedding. I love how the bride and all the bridesmaids are circled around the flower girl. This photo would be pretty in black and white. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Best father-of-the-bride/bride moment before walking down the aisle. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Just look at how Markus looks at his bride. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Pierce wedding at St. Raphael in Dubois. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Kirby taking a couple deep breaths before walking down the aisle. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

I had a couple kids and cake pictures this year that are so funny. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Again…kids during the ceremony are my favorite! (Wedding for Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Grandma got up and boogied down at this wedding in Huntingburg. (Wedding with Kelly Buechlein.)

I relate to this picture so much! This is exactly how my kids are when I try to take “posed” pictures of them…stinkers. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Posed portrait…natural moment…gorgeous bride. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Leibering wedding at Wilstem Ranch. (Wedding with Sean and Natasha Brescher.)

Keubler Wedding. (Wedding with Studio Expressions by Jessica.)

This is the mother/son dance. Such a great moment and not what you usually see during the mother/son dance (Wedding with Studio Expressions by Jessica.)
