Year in Pictures 2017:  Personal

Phew! Last year was such a whirlwind! I swear as soon as we had kids, time sped up. Some highlights from the last year include:

  • A trip to the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis and a loooong weekend in Chicago to visit friends. Guys, making friends as an adult is HARD! I left Chicago with my heart so full! I wish we could spend more time up there.

  • The solar eclipse! We went down to my dad’s house in Tennessee where it was a full solar eclipse (it was only a partial eclipse in Jasper). I was kind of ho hum about going to see it, but Kevin was fired up and I am so glad we did. I don’t really know how to describe it except that it was really cool and everyone should see a total solar eclipse at least once.

  • Ethan turned one! Going from one to two kids was really hard for me, so I feel like Ethan’s first birthday was a huge milestone. In 2017, he went from crawling to walking to running. He learned how to say his brother’s name and a lot of other things…like Christmas tree and candy. He is extremely strong-willed, and cuddly and he melts my heart.

With two kids it’s a lot harder to take pictures. I’m usually juggling at least one of them. I did make a couple pictures in 2017 that I really like. Most of the time, it’s the regular day-to-day pictures that resonate with me the most…especially as time seems to be going faster. Now…if only I could clone myself so I could be in a couple of these pictures!!

Falling asleep WAY before midnight on New Years Eve last year! One major accomplishment of 2017 is that Levi got a big boy bed (and he’s out of our bed!)…and he did sleep in it by himself a handful of times. St. Nicholas scared him and now he sleeps in his toddler bed in Ethan’s room.

This picture cracks me up!

Indianapolis Children’s Museum with Noah! Just a side note…Noah’s mom, Sam, and I met when we were 3/4 and Noah and Levi met at the same age!

Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Sam met Ethan for the first time!

Front porch sitting at the French Lick Hotel.

My stepmom, Pam, made this piñata for Easter! Pretty amazing!

Ethan with Mamaw and Papoo (that’s what Ethan calls him!)

Missy Myla turned two!

Mamaw trying to get her three little grandchildren to take a nap.

Levi learning to garden. We thought these flowers were going to die but they actually exploded and took over!

Ethan turned one! He also pooped blue for days after eating that cake! Yikes!

This is probably the most memorable moment from our trip to Chicago…getting stuck in a hail storm while walking to the train. We all got soaked but the sun came out afterwards.

Levi’s first train ride.

Solar eclipse at my dad’s house.

Ethan LOVED Holidog…Levi not so much. The look on his face is hilarious!

Trick-or-treating

I hand sewed Ethan’s Woodstock costume. I thought it turned out neat…but it was a pain in the butt!

Ethan loves all of his cousins…especially Myla. He asks to see her picture on the wall everyday.
