McKenzy & Kevin Fall Wedding at The Pointe

McKenzy and Kevin had a perfect Friday fall wedding surrounded by so much love. Their wedding straddled two states with the ceremony at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany, IN, and the reception at The Pointe in Louisville, KY. The church was gorgeous, and Fr. Eric remarked that it was one of the most beautiful Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Fr. Tony’s homily was so heartfelt that there was barely a dry eye in the church.

Friends and family arrived with their dancing shoes on, ready to boogie down later to the Juice Box Heroes band after fueling up to a taco dinner.

Kevin and McKenzy are kind and generous, and they love to laugh. Their wedding authentically represented who they are, and I’m so thankful they trusted me to capture their wedding day. Wishing you both all the best as you begin your life together.

McKenzy and Kevin’s love story in their own words:

After many years of waiting, McKenzy and Kevin finally found each other on Catholic Match. While sitting at a coffee shop, McKenzy logged on to the dating app and a picture of Kevin popped up on her phone. With a quick look at his profile (that included shared values and love of beer), McKenzy sent the best one-liner yet: “Hey Kevin. Happy Wednesday!”

Fast forward to one month later, they met in Cincinnati for their first date to see the movie Belfast. During the movie, McKenzy became slightly concerned by the amount of popcorn Kevin was consuming (he says he was nervous). However, fortunately for Kevin, she did not let that discourage her. After the movie they then went to Rhinegeist Brewery where they could continue to share their love of beer.

As the weeks went by, both McKenzy and Kevin knew that there was something special between them. By the third date they had said “I love you,” and after the first time Mike Walker (Kevin’s father) met McKenzy he told his wife, Cathy, “What are they waiting for?” This was a true testament to the saying "when you know you know," and sometimes other people know too.

We are forever grateful for our family and friends that have walked with us through the years of waiting, dating, and praying that we might find each other. We are so blessed to have each of you celebrating with us on our special day. We know that Mike Walker will also be celebrating with us with a Guinness in hand. We love you all and appreciate your prayers as we journey to this next chapter of our lives.

Much love,

McKenzy & Kevin
