Year in Pictures 2019: Saint Meinrad

In March, I will celebrate my eighth anniversary working at Saint Meinrad Archabbey. This place is truly a blessing to come to everyday…but I don’t always realize it. Over the last couple years, I have felt uninspired or stuck…like there is no new way to take pictures here. Saint Meinrad runs on a cycle, so I can expect the same events to happen at the same time every year.

When my son, Levi, started kindergarten in August 2019, I was forced out of my daily routine. We had to get up earlier to get him on the bus and because of that I started arriving to work a half hour early every morning. I used that extra half hour to walk the grounds and began to see Saint Meinrad in a different light…literally.

Saint Meinrad recently posted our 2019 year in pictures. It included photos taken by me and my two talented work-study students. This post includes my favorite photos I took in 2019. I have a lot of favorite pictures from the summer youth conferences, but in 2019 I realized my favorite thing to photograph here is students at ministry…taking the love of God out into the community. I always walk away from those photo assignments with a full heart. Enjoy.
