Jake and Hannah: A French Lick Love Story

An engaged couple kiss at West Baden Springs Hotel, IN

It was a balmy evening in July up at the historical West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, IN. So hot and humid that sweat streamed down my face as I sat out in the Sunken Garden. The sun sunk behind the hotel and the garden was completely shaded, but that didn’t give much relief from the heat. I was there to capture a love story.

Fast forward two weeks earlier…my phone binged with a notification. Someone filled out my contact form! My business is in it’s infancy stage and well, I don’t get many people filling out my form. This was exciting! The phone binged again…this time with a text.

Jake was making plans to ask his girl to marry him and was looking for a photographer to capture the moment. I was honored to be asked and excited my calendar was clear.

Jake’s family has a tradition of spending a week in French Lick every year. He’s from the Indianapolis area and it’s the perfect distance to get away for a change of pace and scenery. He made plans to head south with Hannah a day early. The couple enjoyed some wine and casino time, and as dinnertime approached, they decided to take a stroll in the garden.

I will let the photos tell the rest of the story…

The love and emotion and smiles and excitement! It was a joy to capture such an important moment in Jake and Hannah’s lives.

Thank you both and all the best to you as you begin planning for the big day.
